Promise releases the source!
13 May 2005I've been meaning to put this up for a couple weeks now, but haven't had a chance... I got an email from the customer service manager at Promise, and it's good news. As required by the GPL, they've finally released the source for the Linux kernel and the Busybox utility. They're used in the firmware for the VTrak SATA-to-SCSI drive arrays. MD5 checksums for the tarballs match those that I had downloaded (and mirrored) before. Hurray!

Can you remind your Promise contact that they need to release source for all Linux-based firmwares they release? It's seems your contact made them do a one-shot action rather than make it part of their release procedure:
Their current Source release for 15100 is one year older than the binary firmware (ofcourse, the kernel could have gone unchanged) and sources for newer stuff like Vtrak M200/M300/M500 series is completly missing.
